On question 29...there is NOT a box for a Spiritual, Gospel or Christian genre.  Shouldn't there be one?...there is plenty of that type of music on imeem...plus!, you have deals with these major record labels that support this type of music and genre.

There is a huge listenership for Christian music which encompasses all the genres that Secular music does. We've asked.  When will you make it happen?

Self-centered much?   What makes your faith so special that you should get special treatment?  There's no reason for imeem to give into the bias of a single demographic, and to give every faith their own section would be impractical and dumb.  Just tag your songs and be done with it, or if you must ask for your own group make it something more open-ended and less small-minded.

Here's why there shouldn't be a gospel genre
1) Gospel is a subset of christian music, so before a gospel genre is created we'd have to have a christian genre
2) Christian music shouldn't have its own genre because it comes in many forms - christian Rock/Pop/HipHop/Electronic

instead your music should be tagged as 'christian' or 'gospel' and have the genre set appropriately. People should collect the great stuff into playlists and groups, use the common christian theme to bring people into other types of music.
If you make a separate little corner for gospel music then nobody from outside the genre will ever go there, but if your holy-pop is categorised as pop then pop fans may find it and follow it.

Just for an example....iTunes (which I understand is not a social community, but basically supports the same music) has "Christian & Gospel" listed as a one out of twenty MAJOR genres...I don't recall seeing "Trance"...and that's not to say that Imeem can't add Trance as a genre or sub-genre...but that just goes to show you that "Christian & Gospel" IS MAJOR.

I've been brought up for over 30 years listening to Gospel music EXCLUSIVELY...It has the message that lifts my spirit and encourages me in my everyday life..There is no other music for me. MILLIONS agree,,,There should be a box for Christian/Gospel music.

I believe they should at least have christian...or say religious. It shouldn't offend anyone if they were to put it there. The makers of Imeem should be aware that a variety of people come on here and upload music from different genres. Even Itunes have a section called inspirational. I mean why make something to cater to everybody..when you can't even put something that caters to everyone..you know what i mean.

Yes a religious genre to embrace all faith inspired music would be wonderful, christianity, islam, buddhist, hindu and many other faiths have some amazing music than can only bring the world closer together by realising this common thread in worship.

Yeah, all this is true when u say they should add Christian/Gospel as a genre.  Christian/Gospel is one genre i would love to hear when i work.  Its just some of those praise and worship songs that i love to sing along to.

Synergy, adding as many genres as possible completely detracts from a user friendly UI. Too many choices are overwhelming and take too long to sift through. It's about balance.

What if you don't know the name of the song or artist? Do what I do when I'm searching for black or death metal - google search what lyrics you remember and get it that way. Better chance of finding it that way then hoping when you select the genre seeing it pop right up.

The out cry here is obvious, a christian / gospel genre would be appreciated.

Yes, we need a gospel genre. The gospel music is scattered all over the place. Some of the related music listed isnt related at all and sometimes there is none listed.I have to search by friends alot of the time. If there is a gospel genre more people may join imeem. i could invite my friends from hi5. But they dont have the time to be sifting thru the other music to get to what they want.
